Using IntegratorSyncInstance Property to Match

Devices When Replacing Associated Designs

When you replace an associated Capital Logic Designer design with a later revision or an entirely different design, the system attempts to match devices in the new, associated design with devices from the old, associated design. If a device has a new name and UID in the new design, it will not automatically match an existing device in the old design. You can specify a special property "IntegratorSyncInstance" on devices in the old and new designs so that the system will match them. This is intended to assist in cases where a device has been split or merged, and its name has changed too.

Procedure

1. In the diagram window or Design Browser Window (Design tab) at the bottom left of the application window for the old, associated design, right-click the device that you want to match with a device in the newly associated design, and choose Properties.A properties dialog box displays for that device.

2. On the Properties tab, click New.A New Property dialog box displays.

3. Enter IntegratorSyncInstance in the Property Name field, and click OK.The property displays on the Properties tab.

4. Enter a string in the Value column, and click OK.

5. In the new design to be associated, add the same property and value to the device (or devices) that you want to match with the device from the old, associated design.

Results

When you replace the old design association with the new design, the system matches those devices, and attempts to retain existing placements and previously synchronized wiring related to them.
