Displaying Segment Utilization

You can use the Network Utilization actions to highlight the segments in NX which exceed the volume fill threshold for the segment or a specified percentage of the volume fill threshold.

This video demonstrates how to highlight available segments on a nodal network where cable routes have already been completed:

Prerequisites

Load the nodal network and 3D assembly associated with the project in the 3D visualization window.
From the Cable Router ribbon in NX, click the Utilization Settings action to display the Network Utilization Settings dialog box.

Procedure

Determine the action you want to take:

If you want to…	Do the following…
Highlight segments with a fill volume threshold exceeding the value specified on each segment.	Select the Exceed Respective Fill Volume Threshold display type. Click the Color field and choose a contrasting color to highlight the identified segments. Click Apply, or OK to apply the options and close the dialog box. Click the Display Utilization () toggle to activate the network utilization settings.
Highlight segments with a percentage fill volume exceeding a specified threshold.	Select the Exceed Absolute Fill Volume Threshold display type. Specify the fill volume threshold percentage value above which the segment will be highlighted. Click the Color field and choose a contrasting color to highlight the identified segments. Click Apply, or OK to apply the options and close the dialog box. Click the Display Utilization () toggle to activate the network utilization settings.
Highlight segments in specified ranges of percentage fill volumes.	Select the Use Ranges of Fill Volume Threshold display type. Click the Number of Ranges dropdown list and choose whether to specify Two or Three ranges from 0 to 100%. Specify the limits of the ranges, for example, if specifying three ranges: Specify the fill volume threshold percentage value for 0% ≤ Range 1. Specify the fill volume threshold percentage value for Range 1 ≤ Range 2. Range 2 is also used for the value Range 2 ≤ 100%. Click the Color field for each range to choose a contrasting color to highlight the identified segments. Click Apply, or OK to apply the options and close the dialog box. Click the Display Utilization () toggle to activate the network utilization settings.
