Making a User Account

Active or Inactive

You can make user accounts active or inactive. An inactive user account will no longer be able to login and launch Capital software. By default, all accounts are created active.

Note

Only a user with administrative rights can make user accounts active or inactive.

Procedure

Under the User Accounts node in the browser tree perform one of the following actions:

If you want to... Do the following:
Make multiple user accounts active/inactive Click on a user account, press Shift and drag the mouse to form a box around the user accounts you want to select. Right-click and select Set Inactive or Set Active.
Make an individual account active/inactive Either: Right-click the required user account and select Set Inactive or Set Active. Launch the Edit User Account dialog box by double clicking the required user account. In the Edit User Account dialog box click the Inactive check box to either make the user account inactive or active

Results

The next time an application that requires a user login is launched, a user account marked as inactive will not be able to login.

Note

Accounts marked as inactive while currently logged in will remain active until they are required to login again. Any Flexible Execution Model (FEM) tasks will fail if the user account that launched them is made inactive, details of failed tasks in this scenario are added to the log file.
