Capital Harness Designer LD Integration > Transforming Capital Harness Designer LD Designs

Transforming Vaulted Designs

If you transform a Capital Harness Designer LD design, the following design data is updated on the Capital Harness Designer / Modular diagram:

  • Modules are created as functional module child designs (see Transforming Capital Harness Designer LD Modular and Composite Designs).

  • Existing modules are retained.

  • Incoming design attributes, such as harness name, revision, part number, and short description are ignored (mastered by Capital Harness Designer / Modular only).

If you edit a Capital Harness Designer / Modular design before transforming LD data, a message is displayed to prompt you to Transform and Save to maintain the versions. See also Design Data Flow.

Transform Options

When you transform a vaulted Capital Harness Designer LD design, you can use the Transform Options action to open the Transform Options dialog box and configure how the LD data is bridged into the Capital Harness Designer / Modular design.

See the “Bridge Options Dialog Box” in the Capital Connectors User Guide for a description of the tabs in the Transform Options dialog box.

The Transform action applies the following default Bridge options:

  • 2D flattening

  • Import type = Update All

  • Merge all redundant nodes and bundles = True

  • A default bridge processor “Multisheet separator”

The Transform action applies the following default Adaptor options:

  • KBL stretch factor 1.0

  • KBL extended properties

  • Module code type Functional modules

If defined, the KBLExtended.properties file modifies the bridge operation for external data, to control the following transform behavior:

  • Vertically flips the orientation of the design.

  • Centers the design on the diagram.

  • Transforms Capital Harness Designer LD protection types to Capital Harness Designer / Modular insulation types.

  • Transforms Capital Harness Designer LD twisted wire groups to Capital Harness Designer / Modular twisted multicores.

  • Defines the mode used to generate Ids for incoming objects.

  • Displays a warning in the adaptor report if a splice exists on a reference node.

See also “KBL Connectors” in the Capital Connectors User Guide.

You can create an LDTransform.properties file in Your_installation/adaptors/resources/ folder (based on the bridges.properties file), to include configurable properties that control the Internal Processing of the designs you transform into Capital Harness Designer / Modular.

If the LDTransform.properties file is not available, the connector adaptors use the default property values to handle design objects and connectivity during the Transform action.
