Status User Permissions

There are various user permissions related to setting the status of library components.

Permission Name Description Actions Impacted by Permission
Set Library Component Status The ability to change a library part to a particular status (New, Current, or Obsolete). If you do not have permission to change a library part to a particular status, you can still change a library part from that status to another for which you do have the permission. For example, if you do not have the New permission but do have the Current permission, you can change a library part status from New to Current but you cannot change it from Current to New. New Part Creation Apply Changes Copy Component Dialog Box Revise Import Copy Component Details Save Design As ICD Task (New) Note The following rules apply to the usage of component status permissions: If a user retrieves a part from the database that possesses a status they do not have permission to change, the Status drop-down list initially display the existing status, but will only permit selection of those statuses that the user is permitted to change - all other statuses in the list will be 'grayed-out'. If you do not have the New permission and you create a new part, you cannot save it with the New status. You must select a status for which you have the permission. If you do not have permission to assign any of the three component statuses, you cannot change the status of an existing library part and cannot copy or create new library parts.
