Finding Where a Domain is Used

You can find where a domain is being used in a database. Search results are presented in a table showing the object type, object name, status, project, and designs (where applicable) using the domain. You can filter and sort the table of results.

Procedure

1. In the Capital Access Manager browser tree, right-click the Domains node, and choose Edit, or double-click the node. The Edit Domains Dialog Box opens.

2. In the Edit Domains Dialog Box, select the domain you want to perform a usage search on.

3. Click the Domain Usage search icon . A table is displayed presenting the usage results.

4. You can filter the table based on any of the column values by clicking , or sort the results by hovering over a column header and clicking . For more information about configuring column filtering, see Filter Popup in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide.

5. Click the Close button to exit the usage results table.Note Domain usage table results are formatted in such a way that they can be copied and pasted into an external file.

Results

• Usage results for the selected domain are presented in a table with details of the object type, including shared objects, that use the domain. As domain use can be widespread, further details related to Object Name, Status, Project, and Designs (where applicable) are also provided.

• The superuser account is not displayed in the results table as all the available domains are assigned to it by default. When deleting a domain, the usage of the domain on the superuser is not taken into account.
