Completing (Interactive) Module Code Assignation
Automated Module Code Assignation is used to assign module codes to most components on a design.
However, there may be instances, particularly with production module code assignation, where you need to adjust the content of each module to suit manufacturing requirements, or assign Unassigned objects to selected module codes. This process provides a method to easily visualize and manipulate module contents.
Procedure
Select the required module code or object type folder from either the FM Codes or PM Codes folders on the Module Browser.
Select either the required module code folder, or an object within it. The selected folder or object can be highlighted on the diagram using the View Module Content button (). Unassigned objects are available under an Unassigned folder at the bottom of the tree structure.Note Each object entry in the Module Code browser offers all of the right-click options available to the object on the diagram.
Copy or drag and drop objects between folders (including the Unassigned folder). You can also move objects between the module code folders.Note You can copy the same wire to multiple technical module code folders.
Use the Module Explorer and Module Scratchpad to interact with module codes and objects and quickly visualize how they could look as part of a module within a design, prior to committing them to module code assignation.
Results
The system dynamically checks data integrity during any re-assignation process to ensure the predefined module relationships are respected
If you attempt to assign an object to a module for which no relationship exists, or where an exclusive relationship is stipulated, the action is not performed and a no entry icon (), is displayed.
Validation is carried out dynamically during assignation using drag and drop. There are differences in the checks used depending on whether you are attempting to assign wires or objects.
Wires can only be assigned multiple codes where the codes have previously been defined as having an exclusive relationship.
When performing production code assignation, the system first checks that functional code assignation boundaries have been respected. For example, it will not enable you to assign a component whose functional module codes are marked as exclusive, with the same production code.
