Specifying Prototype Wire Expressions on Wires
In a Capital Logic Designer design that you want to use as a prototype design, you specify prototype option expressions on the wires. These prototype wire expressions are applied to the wires generated from the prototype design when generating wiring in Capital Systems Integrator.
Note
See Example of Using a Single Prototype Wiring Design for Multiple Configurations in the Capital Systems Integrator User Guide for a full example of using this in a prototype flow.
Procedure
In the diagram window or Design Browser (Design tab) of Capital Logic Designer, select one or more wires that you want to use as prototypes and choose Prototype Expressions.
The Prototype Wire Expressions Dialog Box displays. For each of the wires, specify the prototype wire expression that you want applied to the wire that will be created in Capital Systems Integrator using this prototype wire.
Click OK to exit the dialog and save your changes. Click Cancel if you do not want to save your changes.
Results
The value specified in the Prototype Wire Expression column will be displayed as the value for the Prototype Wire Expression attribute in the Properties dialog box for the wire, and for the multicore if the wire belongs to one. That attribute is visible both in Capital Logic Designer and Capital Systems Integrator but can be edited only in Capital Logic Designer. It is accessible to the API.
Note
This attribute is not transferred into a prototype wiring design when you save visualized wiring in Capital Systems Integrator. It is relevant only when specifying prototype wire expressions in an existing prototype design and can be generally ignored otherwise.

Note
You can view a read-only version of the Prototype Wire Expressions dialog box in Capital Systems Integrator. To do so, select one or more wires in the diagram window or Design Browser (Design tab) and choose Prototype Expressions.
