Click and Drag Bundle
Manipulation
When laying out a harness, you can use the click and drag bundle manipulation action to rotate individual bundles and sections of a harness (including bundles with grip points and arcs). The action is applicable on both full and non-full scale diagrams.

Invoking the Action
Click and hold on a bundle segment (for non-full scale diagrams you must use Ctrl+click). As you drag, the bundle pivots at the opposite end of the segment. If there is an arc segment adjacent to the opposite end, the selection pivots around the arc segment. Release the mouse button to place the bundle in the required position. See also “Using Click and Drag Bundle Manipulation”.
Arcs
If you drag a segment with an arc, you can automatically adjust the sweep of the arc or straighten the arc completely. See also the “Bundle Rotation and Manipulation” video and “Straightening an Arc Segment”.
Snap Intervals
When you click and drag a bundle, the segment angle snaps to the nearest grid snap interval. If you press the Shift key while dragging the bundle, the angle of the segment snaps to the nearest orthogonal angle. See also Grid Snap in the “Status Bar” topic.

Preview Graphics
When you start to drag a selected bundle, a dynamic preview showing the movement of the bundle and any associated take out bundles is displayed. The initial preview displays the bundles in a rotated view, such that their angle with the selected bundle is preserved, as in Figure 101. The preview graphics display in the default Object Selection Color.

If you press Ctrl as you drag the bundles, the preview changes to display the bundles in a translated view to retain the orientation of take out bundles, as in Figure 102. Release Ctrl to toggle back to the initial preview.

Note
On a non-full scale diagram (where you need to press Ctrl to invoke the action) the initial preview is in rotated mode. Release Ctrl as you drag to toggle to the translated preview.
Rotation Angle
As you drag a bundle, the angle of rotation dynamically displays with the preview graphics.

You can view the angle in two modes:
- Relative - This is the default mode, the angle between the original position of the bundle and the rotated position is displayed. Figure 103 shows the bundle currently rotated 37.0 degrees from its original position.

- Absolute - Press the T key to toggle the mode to Absolute. In this mode, the angle between the x-axis of the design and the rotated position of the bundle is shown. Figure 104 shows the bundle currently rotated 80 degrees from the design x-axis.

Note
The angle of rotation increments by the amount you have defined in the style set associated with the diagram. See “Design Settings” in the Capital Diagram Styling User Guide to set the RotationAngleRoundingValue option.
Special Cases
Loops
If you click and drag a bundle segment that is part of a loop, then the full harness is selected in the dynamic preview and is rotated accordingly.

Multi-Entry Connectors
You are prevented from rotating a bundle or section of harness that includes a multi-entry connector unless all its connected bundles are included in the selection. If prevented, the connector is highlighted and a message in the Status Bar displays information. See Figure 105.
