Specifying the Harness Attribute for an Object

The Harness attribute is used for mapping Capital Logic Designer objects to Capital Harness Designer harnesses during synchronization.

Tip

See also “Harness Synchronization” in the Capital Harness Designer User Guide.

As an alternative to using the following procedure, you can specify the Harness attribute for an object on the General tab in the Properties Dialog Box.

There may be cases where an object in a Capital Logic Designer design needs to be synchronized into multiple Capital Harness Designer harnesses. To avoid running numerous synchronizations, you can enter multiple harness design names or harness groups as comma (,) separated values in the Harness field in the Edit Harness Attribute dialog box.

Caution

Although you can specify multiple harness designs or harness groups in the Harness field as a comma‑separated list, you must not do for a poke home wire because a poke home wire only ever belongs to one harness. See Specifying a Poke Home Wire.

Procedure

  1. To open the Edit Harness Attribute dialog box:Select the object, press the space bar and enter Set Harness.

Right-click the object and select Edit Harness Attribute.

  1. In the Harness field, enter (as a comma-separated list) the names of the harness designs or harness groups that the object is to be synchronized to. If a list of pre-specified harness names has been created in the project’s Object Type Information in Capital Project Manager, you can select one from the dropdown list or click the ellipsis button (...) next to the Harness field and select one in the Name Selection Dialog Box.Note Harness groups can be defined by specifying a value in the Harness Group field in the Edit Design dialog box for a harness design. See “Editing the Information for a Design” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide.

  2. Click OK.
