Bundle Configuration

Defining a Bundle

You can place a bundle onto a harness design using the Add Bundle dialog box, selecting / creating start and end nodes as required. Additionally, use this method to assign an Option Expression against the bundle as it is placed.

Procedure

  1. Press Space Bar and enter Define. The Add Bundle Dialog Box is displayed.

  2. The Start Node and End Node fields offer a list of all nodes on the diagram. Either:Select a Start Node and End Node from the dropdown lists.

Enter a new node name into each field.

Leave the fields blank, in which case any nodes created as a result of the bundle placement will be named according to any Default Naming rules configured against the project in Capital Project Manager.

  1. Specify the Dimension type to be used. By default, this will be Dynamic; if you change this to Static, enter a length for the bundle in the field to the right.Note If you are working in a full scale diagram, selecting the Static option results in the Radial option being selected; it is not possible to clear it, as static bundles in full scale diagrams can only be drawn radially.

  2. Click OK.

Results

The results vary according to your selections within the dialog box:

  • If you specified only a Start Node or End Node, the bundle will be placed, anchored at that node. The cursor will change to indicating that you can now place the other end of the bundle.

  • If you specified both a Start Node and an End Node, the bundle will be placed, anchored at both nodes.

  • If you did not specify a node, the cursor changes to indicating that you can now place the bundle start node, end node and any waypoints (if required).

Once placed, the following bundle entities are displayed:

  • The start and end nodes

  • A line indicating the bundle’s path

  • The bundle length Note The bundle entities listed comprise the default offering as dictated by the style set shipped with Capital Harness Designer. Both the entities displayed, and the appearance of those entities, can be modified. See also the Capital Diagram Styling User Guide.

The bundle is added to the Harness Design Browser.
